Cute and Easy Valentine's Gifts

Baked Goods!
I'm currently obsessed with the cake in a jar craze. I think they would make the perfect gift for Valentine's day for family members and friends.. They almost look to cute to eat :) See Recipe Here See Cake-O-Jar Idea's Here

I also love the idea of a cookie bouquet. They are inexpensive but a ton of fun to create. All you need is a good boxed or packaged cookie mix or recipe, icing, sprinkles, tissue paper, ribbon, and a small container or basket to arrange them in. For those of you less inclined to bake, I love this cookie bouquet (pictured below) from Corso's Cookies Buy Here

DIY Valentine's Day Cards
With the thousands of manufactured cards out there, what better what to show your loved one's how much you care by making your own homemade V-day cards. See Here for instructions and Here for Design Idea's.

DIY Gift Baskets
Gift baskets are always special, but they can get pretty pricey around a specific holiday and depending on where you buy them from. Why not try putting together your own this year. The best thing about doing it yourself, is that you control the price range and that you control what goes into the basket. You can choose to put in those crazy dress socks from the person's favorite designer or add those Disney princess stickers. Just as an FYI, The Dollar Store is a great place to pick up the supplies necessary for creating the basket!    See How Here See Basket Stuffer Idea's Here Buy Here

14 Days of Love

So this year my boyfriend decided to do something very unique for the days leading up to Valentine's Day. Instead of the normal humdrum of roses and going to dinner on February 14th, he decided to dedicate the 14 days prior to me. The way he explained it, was that he wanted me to feel loved and appreciated for more than just one day. I actually think this is a great idea and can be done anytime of the year, not just February. It's a great way to show your loved one's (romantic and otherwise) how much you care.. Today's gift was a beautiful mug from Starbucks that I had been eyeing for quite some time :) Can't wait to make some soothing  chamomile tea in it.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I love love loveeeee this dress from H&M! I'm semi-obsessed with stripes (see my previous post). I just feel like they make every body shape look great. This dress in particular is nice because it minimizes the waist and gives you that great hour glass silhouette! Get it here!

I'm trying to convince my boyfriend to let us get a dog. I am in love with Boo the World's Cutest Dog! He's a Pomeranian with an adorable haircut. The boyfriend  hasn't budged but I'm persistent :) Boo's Facebook Page

SHAKE SHACK!! I'm a California girl at heart so I love IN-N-OUT BURGER, but Shake Shack is keeping my appetite satisfied while I'm in NYC! Shake Shack!

Nautical Winter

Rainy Days and Wednesday's always get me down.... Just Kidding! It was raining pretty heavily today though, so I decided to take some pics from inside our apartment. Who says you can't do a nautical themed outfit in the winter. Fashion knows no rules :)

Ruffled Orange and Pretty Pearls

I absolutely love this dress. I got it at old navy during an end of the season sale one summer and am obsessed with it. It's so versatile!  It can easily be dressed up, as shown with the pearls, or dressed down with a cardigan and cute flats or tennis shoes. It's perfect for a spring/summer brunch date with the boyfriend or friends or a causal stroll in the park with puppy.  As always thanks for reading and Enjoy :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
So we tried to make it to Times Square but the crowd was ridiculous! By the time we got there we had been pushed back to what felt like 50th! Alas, we were no where near the ball so we instead decided to come back to Brooklyn and celebrate at one of our favorite bars!
